2012 Hotel Noir - Carla Gugino and Rufus Sewell

Kickstarter Update:

Okay, the first wave of Gathr screenings have been requested and now need your assistance in being filled.  This is the main goal of the HOTEL NOIR campaign — to get the movie shown in actual THEATERS!

So if you live (or know someone who lives) close to one of these theaters, get on over to Gathr and reserve your seats!  If you partake in any of those fancy social networking things like Twitter and Facebook, post about it!  The key thing is getting the word out so that people know its actually happening.

If they don’t know, they can’t see it.  So don’t be mean, LET THEM KNOW.

1. West Palm Beach, FL — Go to http://gathr.us/screening/563 (screening on Dec. 13)

2. Philadelphia, PA — Go to http://gathr.us/screening/523 (screening on Dec 10)

3. Cedar City, UT — Go to http://gathr.us/screening/608  (screening on Dec. 10)

A new trailer for “Hotel Noir”

Downtown Los Angeles, sometime in the 1950′s.

Nighttime.

A detective checks into a hotel across from the train station and waits.
He knows it’s simply a matter of time before the gangsters he has stolen from come find him.

He has played his hand and come up short.

He’s broken his own rules.

He’s as good as dead.

On his last night on earth, long past the point of caring, he meets as series of characters: a singer trying to become a better person, a salesman with a secret, a gambler with an attitude, a chambermaid full of dreams.
The past keeps crashing into the present and the future - if such a thing ever existed - is but a vague rumor.

This is the world of HOTEL NOIR.

Just a reminder that the Hotel Noir Kickstarter ends in 36 hours.

Not that they desperately need your money: the movie is already made and the project is 150% funded. It’s just a neat opportunity to get some cool items if you’re interested in supporting a modern B&W film noir (and let’s face it: if you’re following me, chances are you are), want to support indie filmmakers, and have some spare money.

At the very least you can read the press kit. It’s free, and it contains some nice insight into the genre, its archetypes, and why it’s still relevant today.

A VIEW FROM THE SET

If you wonder what HOTEL NOIR looks like before the black & white of it all has set in, here’s a little behind-the-scenes snippet of actress Carla Gugino rehearsing a scene as singer Hanna Click.

Three days left to become a kickstarter backer for Hotel Noir!
